Food is usually a 20 minute minimum wait for takeout. C rating. There's indoor seating. The furniture is relatively old. Roti canai - 4/5 - roti was too thick. It wasn't flaky. The curry had a really fresh coconut smell. Seafood Tom yum rice noodle - 2/5 - soup was good, but the fish balls were very fishy. I think they went bad. Shrimp was over cooked. Hainanese chicken rice - 5/5 - delicious! The hot sauce has a slight kick. Chicken was good. Oil rice with soy sauce was good. Perfect combination!

One of my favorite and probably most authentic Malaysian go to spots in the flushing neighborhood. Although the inside of the restaurant may be dingy, their food sure isn't! There is a a wide selection of authentic dishes however I would recommend their Asam laksa which is packed with flavor and their chow kueh teow that is stir fried to perfection!

I first found the hole-in-the-wall/hidden gem spot years ago and finally doing a review on it now. Since then, I've come here several times introducing various friends to this underrated Malaysian spot to which they all love as well. The main reason I find myself coming back is: 1) the price is super fair. Even with inflation and rising cost in foods all around NYC, they manage to keep their prices low. You can spend around $20 with a fairly cheap entree and appetizers and get really full. 2) My favorite: Curry Chicken Noodles. The first time I had this dish, I loved it! The flavors of this warm curry with the good portion of noodles hit the spot for me! That first memory makes me come back each time. This is my order almost everytime along with appetizers to share with friends. 3) You don't have so many Malaysian spots around Flushing as it's filled with so many other asian cuisines. The only other one I can name is Pappa Rich, but this store is more low-key, but still tasty.

Delicious food, large portions for a great price!! We walked in around 12pm on a Sunday and there was no wait for 2 people. Ordered roti canai which was sooo good, as well as hainanese chicken rice and Malaysia Cheong Fun with Curry Sauce. Hainan chicken itself was good although not the best I've had, but the rice and soup were excellent. I'd come here again!

My go-to Malaysian restaurant when I need a savory fix!! We got 1/2 hainanese chicken and chicken broth rice to go along with it which was super juicy and delicious. The roti canai was delicious, both flaky and soft, and the curry was very good (a small kick but manageable). Chicken satay mixed with the peanut sauce is always great. Got the Malaysian cheong fun w curry sauce was SPICYY, but lots of flavor. I cannot handle my spice well so it was not fun haha. I would skip on this dish next time though unless you're a big curry fan. This was a LOT of food for $60, so worth!

A no frills, hole-in-the-wall Malaysian restaurant made for family style eating. The restaurant is pretty small and the service is pretty quick. We had the Malaysian Lobak and the Malaysia cheong fun w curry sauce, which was enough for my parents and I, but if you have a larger appetite, you may want to order one more dish. The cheong fun is my favorite and I keep coming back to this restaurant just for it. Huge plate of cheong fun noodles with a stuffed pepper, eggplant, and tofu, with some dried tofu skin in curry sauce/soup. The Malaysian lobak was decent, but not revolutionary. The shrimp cake was pretty good. Not pictured, but get the combo satay skewers. So bomb especially with the peanut sauce.

My family and I frequent this place a lot now that it's the only Malay restaurant on the block since Curry Leaves left. We usually have a good experience but our most recent visit wasn't up to par. Popped in around 3pm on a Friday night so there wasn't a lot of wait and immediately got seated. Our server came across and served the hot tea per usual but when it came time to taking orders, they forgot a couple of items we had ordered...which is fine because by the end of the meal, we were already full and decided to cancel the items. I ordered the Assam Laksa, Char Kueh Teow, Satay, Taro Bowl and some other items to go. I loved my Assam Laska - it's what you would expect. Bit sour but has bits of fish at the bottom and pineapple. I forgot how much I missed this and can't seem to get the flavour right myself so this is the place to go! Taro basket is always a favorite.. so crispy with every bite and has the perfect amount of ingredients to complement it. Satay was also great - no complaints there. No frill kind of place.. service is alright. The chef in the back did come out and check on us to see how the food was. This is not the place you want to visit for a 5* experience but it's the place to go for authentic Malay food.

It's a very small restaurant, but the food is very good and authentic. The chicken satay was honestly the best Malaysian chicken satay I've had in NJ and NY. So much flavor and cooked to perfection! The squid with water spinach was out of this world, and it came with so much extra sauce that I was just dipping the achat pickles into it The Hokkien Mee could have been a bit better but it was still good. It's one of those dishes that is a bit more difficult to get right. However, I didn't like the addition of what tasted like liver in it. The Achat was refreshing, and the Chow Kueh Teow was cooked with enough wok hei but I do prefer it with a bit more flavor. The sambal chili they gave added a nice touch the chow kueh teow was missing. We would have tried more but wanted to food hop in Flushing.

Malay is fantastic and I definitely plan on ordering from here through UberEats again (they deliver to Jamaica- woohoo)! I ordered the Hainese Chicken and the tom yum seafood noodle soup- and yes they were both for lunch but I was hungry! The Hainese Chicken was great and a Malaysian classic but I liked this dish better at other places such as PappaRich. The tom yum seafood noodle soup, however, was absolutely delicious. As I ordered takeout, they had separated the broth + seafood & the noodles. After mixing it (okay, dumping) the broth into the noodles, it was quite frankly the perfect meal on a chilly day. They gave an ample amount of broth + seafood (with a wide variety as well) and the tom yum flavoring was strong but not overpowering. I will definitely try more things from Malay.
